Day-by-Day Itinerary
Kampala to Kibale Forest
Early departure from Kampala. Scenic 5-hour drive to Kibale Forest via Fort Portal and the Crater Lakes. Afternoon: forest walk or bird watching. Overnight lodge.
Kibale — Chimpanzee Trekking
Morning: chimpanzee trekking — half-day in the forest. Afternoon: Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary — L'Hoest's monkeys and 200+ bird species. Overnight lodge.
Kibale to Bwindi — Gorilla Briefing
Drive south to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through the Ishasha corridor. Afternoon: gorilla trek briefing and optional forest walk. Overnight Bwindi.
Gorilla Trekking — Bwindi
The centrepiece of the safari. Trek into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to find your gorilla family. One magical hour. Return to lodge. Overnight Bwindi.
Bwindi to Jinja — Source of the Nile
Morning: Lake Bunyonyi canoe trip. Afternoon drive east to Jinja. Evening: Source of the Nile boat trip and a cold Nile Special beer at the waterfront.
Jinja Activities & Return to Entebbe
Morning: white-water rafting Grade 5 rapids (optional) or kayaking the Nile. Afternoon: drive to Entebbe. Transfer to the airport or final hotel. Safari complete!
